I Have a Fridgeful of Dopamine

I Have a Fridgeful of Dopamine

The helicopter parks
in the first compartment of the freezer
It never takes off
I have a fridgeful of dopamine
and still can't make the propeller turn

I like to stick my head into the fridge
holding my breath, looking for a sky and a sun
They've been frozen
A bird in the position of falling
level with my ears

My face freezes too
It has lost its expressions
But I need to imagine a wind
comes out of my nostrils and
will not freeze
The wind
will bring me a reticent
man
who, like me
overthinks
and never shows it

Our brains
are not enough
They frost up often
covered in a layer
of thin crystals
which sticks too tightly
to our short breaths
